NEET Counselling Process:

  1. Registration:
    • Application forms are available on the NEIGRIHMS website at www.neigrihms.gov.in.
    • Candidates must fill the application carefully with all personal information, educational qualifications, and other details.
    • Completed application forms should be placed in an envelope labeled “Application for MBBS Admission” and dropped off at the box located outside the Examination Cell, Director’s Block, NEIGRIHMS.
    • Alternatively, forms can be mailed (SPEED POST ONLY) to “Examination Cell, NEIGRIHMS, Director’s Block, P.O. – Mawdiangdiang, Shillong – 793018.”
    • Note: The institute will not be held liable for any postal delivery delays.
  2. Procedure of Payment:
    • Candidates must pay a non-refundable registration fee as well as a refundable tuition fee.
    • The fees can be paid online using a credit/debit card, net banking method, or through a challan available on the website.
    • Payments made at any bank should be deposited to “NEIGRIHMS MBBS ACCOUNT.”
    • Candidates should submit the original challan (NEIGRIHMS copy) with the application form and keep the original challan (Candidate’s copy) as evidence of payment.
  3. Counselling:
    • The list of candidates called for counselling, as well as any waiting list, will be posted on the official website, www.neigrihms.gov.in.
    • Candidates listed for counselling and selected for admission must attend a medical examination at the institute on the notified date at their own expense.
    • Counselling will be based solely on merit in the NEET score and percentile.
    • Candidates found medically fit must pay the full admission fee.
    • A sufficient number of candidates from the waiting list will be called for second counselling to fill vacancies created by the failure of selected candidates to appear.
    • Selected candidates must attend classes on the first day. Failure to report without prior permission may result in cancellation of selection/admission.
  4. Bond Fee:
    • All selected candidates must execute a bond on the required stamp paper at the time of admission.
    • Candidates failing to complete the course must pay/deposit a bond money of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs).

MCC 15% AIQ Quota:

  • About MCC: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. MCC conducts online counselling for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental courses in India through NEET UG and NEET PG exams, respectively.
  • MCC NEET Counselling Registration:
    • MCC conducts four rounds of NEET-UG counselling for AIQ, including a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round.
    • Steps:
      1. Visit the official website of MCC (https://mcc.nic.in/) and click on the “UG Medical Counseling” tab.
      2. Click on “New Registration” and fill in all required details.
      3. After successful registration, use the login credentials to fill in your choices of colleges and courses.
      4. Fill in preferred colleges and courses in order of priority and lock them.
      5. The seat allotment process is based on rank, category, and choices filled.
      6. Report to the allotted college within the specified time with required documents and pay the admission fee.

MCC Counselling Fees Structure:

  • 15% AIQ/ Central Universities:
    • Non-refundable fee:
      • UR: INR 1,000
      • SC/ST/OBC/PwD: INR 500
    • Refundable fee:
      • UR: INR 10,000
      • SC/ST/OBC/PwD: INR 5,000
  • Deemed Universities:
    • Non-refundable fee: INR 5,000
    • Refundable fee: INR 2,00,000

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualify Exam: NEET conducted by NTA
  • Nationality: Indian citizens; NRI candidates with Indian passports; OCI and PIO under NRI category
  • Age Limit: Maximum 25 years
  • Qualification: Class 12 or equivalent with minimum qualifying marks
  • Domicile: Resident of Meghalaya with a permanent resident certificate

NEET UG Cutoff:

  • Category: Qualifying Marks, Percentile Criteria
    • General/EWS: 715-117, 50th Percentile
    • SC/BC: 116-93, 40th Percentile
    • General/EWS & PH Category: 116-105, 45th Percentile
    • SC/BC & PH Category: 104-93, 40th Percentile
  1. Passport Size Photographs: Three recent passport size photographs, including one sized 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
  2. Age Proof Certificate: Document verifying the candidate’s age.
  3. Character Certificate: Certificate attesting to the candidate’s character.
  4. Marksheet of Qualifying Exam: Marksheet of the qualifying examination, duly self-attested.
  5. SC/ST Certificate: Certificate for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
  6. Ex-Serviceman/Armed Forces Personnel Certificate: Certificate for candidates falling under this category.
  7. Meritorious Sportsperson Certificate: Certificate for candidates recognized as meritorious sportspersons.
  8. Payment Proof: Banker’s cheque, demand draft, or cash receipt for payment of fees.
  9. Domicile/Residential/Employment Certificate: Certificate establishing domicile, residency, or employment status.
  10. Mark Sheets of Previous Exams: Mark sheets of 10+2/B.Sc. or earlier qualifying examinations for B.Sc. candidates.
  11. Admit Card of Qualifying Exam: Admit card of the qualifying examination, pending the declaration of results.
  12. Disability Certificate: Certificate obtained from the Medical Board, Medical Directorate, Lamphel, for candidates with disabilities.
  13. OBC Certificate: Certificate for candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
  14. NEET Score Card: Copy of the NEET scorecard for the current year.
