Eligibility Criteria

  1. MCC Counselling for 50% All India Quota Seats:
    • The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct counselling based on NEET PG scores to fill 50% of the All India Quota seats for postgraduate medical courses.
  2. DME Counselling for 50% State Quota Seats in Assam:
    • The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) will fill the remaining 50% of state quota seats in Assam based on state merit rank derived from NEET PG 2024 scores.
  3. Admission to Private University MD/MS/PG and Diploma Seats:
    • Admission regulatory bodies will utilize NEET PG scores to determine admission to all private university MD/MS/PG and Diploma seats.
  4. DGHS Counselling for Deemed/Central Universities:
    • The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will conduct counselling for deemed/central universities on behalf of MCC to facilitate admission to postgraduate medical courses.

Assam NEET PG Counselling 2024

Step 1: Counselling Registration through Online

  1. Registration:
    • Candidates apply online on the Directorate of Medical Education Assam website using their NEET PG roll number and email registration used in NEET PG.
    • NEET-PG registration details are displayed, and if eligible, candidates make an online payment.
    • Successful registration confirmation is sent via SMS to the registered mobile number.

Step 2: Online Security Money Payment

  1. Payment:
    • Candidates pay the required security money fees prescribed by the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Assam.
    • After payment, the state merit list is declared, and online seat choice filling becomes available.

Step 3: Merit Declaration

  1. Inter-se Rank: Inter-se rank in the state merit list is determined based on NEET-PG 2024 scores.
    • Final merit list is prepared and displayed on the website.

Step 4: Online Choice Filling

  1. Procedure:
    • Candidates visit dme.assam.gov.in and click on choice filling.
    • Choice filling is done in multiple sessions, with the option to save progress.
    • Final submission and locking of choices is mandatory before the deadline.
    • Seat allotment list is declared online after choice filling concludes.

Step 5: Seat Allotment

  1. Allotment Status:
    • Candidates log in to the website to view their seat allotment status.
    • If offered a seat, candidates have the option to accept the allotment letter and join the college.
    • Physically disabled category candidates must be present before the medical board as per specified dates.
    • Reserved category admissions follow state government rules applicable on the counselling date.
    • OBC candidates under the creamy layer provision are not entitled to OBC category benefits.
    • Candidates failing to produce required original documents or found to have concealed/falsified information will face legal consequences.
