Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- MBBS Completion in Meghalaya: Candidates who have completed MBBS from an institution located in Meghalaya and are bonafide residents of Meghalaya are eligible.
- MBBS Completion from Recognized Institution: Candidates who have completed MBBS from any institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) are eligible. Additionally, if their parents hold a resident certificate of Meghalaya, they are also eligible.
- Compulsory Internship: Candidates must have completed a compulsory Rotatory Residential internship on or before July 31, 2024.
- Registration: Candidates should be registered with the state National Medical Commission (NMC).

Meghalaya NEET PG Counselling 2024
Step 1: Counselling Registration through Online
- Visit Website: Admission seekers visit the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, Shillong website.
- Registration: Applicants use their NEET PG roll number and email registration used in NEET PG (NEET-PG) for registration. They follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
- NEET-PG Registration Details: After registration, the candidate’s NEET-PG registration details are displayed.
- Online Payment: If eligible, candidates make an online payment. Confirmation of successful registration is sent via SMS to the registered mobile number. A password is created during registration for choice filling.
- Transaction and Registration Number: After successful payment, candidates receive a Transaction and Registration number on their registered mobile number.
Step 2: Online Security Money Payment
- Payment: Applicants pay the required Security money fees prescribed by NEIGRIHMS, Shillong.
- Seat Choice Filling: After paying security money and the state merit list declaration, the online seat choice filling option becomes available.
- Payment Receipt: Candidates can take a printout of their online payment receipt.
Step 3: Merit Declaration
- Inter-se Rank: State merit list rank reference is based on NEET-PG 2024.
- Final Merit List: The final merit list is prepared as per the provisions and displayed on the website.
Step 4: Online Choice Filling
- Visit Website: Candidates visit the NEIGRIHMS Shillong website.
- Choice Filling: Candidates login using their NEET roll number and previously created password. Choice filling can be done in multiple sessions, but candidates must remember to save and continue. The process must be completed by submitting and locking the choices.
- Seat Allotment List: After the choice filling period ends, the seat allotment list is declared online.
Step 5: Seat Allotment
- Check Allotment Status: Candidates log into the website to view their seat allotment status.
- Acceptance of Allotment Letter: Candidates can either accept the allotment letter or resign after joining.
- Second Counselling Eligibility: Candidates who do not join or resign after joining are eligible for second counselling but will forfeit their security deposit.
- Reserved Category Admission: Reserved category candidates are given admission as per the rules of the state government applicable on the counselling date.
- OBC Category Eligibility: OBC candidates covered by the provisions of the creamy layer are not entitled to OBC category benefits.
- Document Verification: Candidates must produce required original documentats the time of admission. Any concealment or falsification of facts may lead to legal action.

- High School/Secondary School Certificate issued by the Board/University showing the applicant’s date of birth.
- Pass Certificate/Provisional Pass Certificate of the qualifying MBBS examination.
- Mark sheets of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (Part-I and Part-II) MBBS Professional Examinations.
- Attempt certificate of MBBS Professional Examinations.
- Internship completion certificate/certificate from the head of the Institution/college stating that the candidate will complete the Internship by 31st July 2024.
- Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate within the validity period issued by MCI/State Medical Council.
- NEET PG 2024 Admit card.
- NEET PG 2024 Score Card.
- Domicile/Permanent Residential Certificate valid for the year 2024 from the competent authority (i.e. District Commissioner of the state or any Government authorized Official) proving that the candidate is a Domicile/Permanent resident of one of the 8 (eight) North Eastern states of India including Sikkim.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC): If the candidate joins elsewhere in the PG course, they must bring NOC from the concerned college for joining the PG course in NEIGRIHMS.
- Candidates are to indicate if they are a student of NEIGRIHMS. If so, they should write the name of the state they belong to in the appropriate Test Box provided in the Application Form.

NEET PG Counselling Factors
- 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats: These seats are allocated through the centralized counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for admission to postgraduate medical courses across India.
- 50% State Quota seats: These seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the respective states. Each state conducts its own counselling process for these seats.
- Central Universities (DU, AMU, BHU): Central universities such as Delhi University (DU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have their own quota of seats for PG medical courses.
- Deemed Universities: Deemed universities also offer PG medical seats. They conduct their own counselling process for admission to these seats.
- ESIC colleges: Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) colleges also offer PG medical seats. They may have their own counselling process or participate in central counselling.
- Armed Forces Medical Services: Seats reserved for candidates seeking admission to PG medical courses in the Armed Forces Medical Services. Admission to these seats is through separate counselling conducted by the armed forces.
