Candidate or parent must be a permanent resident of Assam.
Residency Requirement
Parent(s) should have resided in Assam for at least 20 years (as per state rules), with certain exemptions for children of All India Services officers allotted to Assam cadre.
Schooling Requirement
Candidate should have studied in Assam from Class VII to Class XII and passed the qualifying examination from an institution in Assam.
Educational Qualification
Must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
Minimum Marks in PCB
General: 50%; SC/ST/OBC: 40%; PwD: 45%.
Minimum Age
17 years on or before 31 December of the admission year.
State Quota Eligibility
Eligible for 85% Assam State Quota seats.
Non-Domicile Candidates
Not eligible for Assam State Quota; can apply through 15% All India Quota (AIQ).

Admission Process
Step 1
Appear for and qualify the NEET UG 2026 examination.
Step 2
Visit the official Assam counselling portal and complete the online registration process.

Fill in personal, academic, and NEET details and upload the required documents.

Pay the prescribed counselling registration fee (if applicable).

DME Assam releases the state merit list based on NEET UG scores.
